Medicine Buddha practice is a powerful tool that helps to facilitate the healing of self and others. Students will practice daily prayers and meditations, and receive teachings on transforming the three poisons of ignorance, anger, and attachment.
This retreat will provide basic instruction and orientation to Buddhist teachings and practice that previously have been part of our “Get Acquainted with Namgyal Retreat”. In addition, this retreat will provide an overview and introduction to Tantric Buddhist practice. The teachings will be given in conjunction with a Medicine Buddha initiation, detailed instruction on the practice of the Medicine Buddha Sadhana and daily Medicine Buddha group practice sessions. After the last meditation session and dinner on each day, there will be discussion groups, slide-lectures and other activities.
This retreat is accessible and open to anyone who would like to attend. Students will receive individual attention from the monks of the Dalai Lama’s own personal monastery. The retreat will be relatively informal and all of the monks will be accessible to the students throughout the day and evening for questions and discussion on the materials studied. There will also be many opportunities for individual sessions with the teachers of Namgyal Monastery to discuss questions you might have regarding your own personal practice.

In 2005, Namgyal Monastery invited him to Dharamsala where he has taught classes on the great treatises and tantra every year in the monastery as well as to small groups of eastern and western students who aspire to study the Buddhadharma.
