His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trizin Rinpoche served as the 41st head of the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism, His Holiness the Sakya Trizin. He is a member of Tibet‘s noble Khon family, which founded the Sakya Order in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. Hence, he carries the blessings of the Sakya Order lineage and he is considered the manifestation of all the Buddha’s transcendent wisdom. In March 2017, his duties as throneholder of the Sakya lineage were turned over to the 42nd Sakya Trizin, His Holiness Ratna Vajra Rinpoche. Since then the 41st Sakya Trizin has continued to provide teachings to students throughout the world.
White Tara Empowerment 9:00 AM - noon:
His Holiness Sakya Trizin will perform a White Tara empowerment and provide teachings on practice and meditation on White Tara and her qualities. Tara is regarded as a fully enlightened Buddha in a female form. She represents the embodiment of the perfection of wisdom. Meditation and practice related to White Tara has the effects of good health, longevity and peace of mind.
Lam Dre Teachings 2PM-5PM
His Holiness Sakya Trizin will provide teachings on the Lam Dre. Lam Dre teachings represent the core philosophy and practices of the Sakya tradition. Lamdre literally mean path and result. The teachings comprise a complete and gradual system of methods that when practiced bring about the realization of the inseparability of samsara and nirvana.
