Medicine Buddha prayer and 21 Tara Prayer for the Swift eradication and suffering caused by the COVID -19 Pandemic.
Dear Students and Friends,
All over the world, Buddhists and non-Buddhists are coming together to pray and perform practices especially dedicated for protection and to eradicate the sufferings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The spread of the virus does not honor national boundaries, religions, socioeconomic status, or racial and ethnic differences.
There has already been so much pain and suffering caused by this pandemic, and our heartfelt support and condolences go to those in our global community who have been negatively affected. This is the time now to come together and take care of each other in this difficult time. With this we have an opportunity to practice generosity, loving-kindness, compassion and grace.
In these challenging and anxious times, our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are affected by the coronavirus, specially to the doctors and nurses caring for people on the front lines and we thank to all the people who are working to save lives and keep communities safe during this pandemic.
Here at the Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies, Ithaca, New York - Venerable monks are doing every alternative days prayers of Medicine Buddha prayer and 21 Tara Prayer since March 18, 2020 from 8.30am to 10.30am for the swift eradication of this pandemic disease and aspire and pray for you all to be physically and mentally healthy and sound.
For staying physically safe, social distancing is also an act of generosity and compassion towards the benefit of others and personal hygiene.
With Prayers for everyone’s good Health.
Namgyal Venerables, Board and Staff.
