Dear Students,

This note is to inform you that as a precaution with the COVID-19 virus, that for the rest of the semester Namgyal classes will be offered only online. All students taking spring classes are requested not to come to the monastery for class, but instead view livestream of the class online.  This is to ensure everyone’s health.

After the Chotrul Duchen celebration yesterday, there was some discussion that attending classes at the monastery could be their choice.  However, after further consideration we have determined that it is best that no one come to classes at the monastery in order to completely eliminate any risk of infection of students at the monastery.

We understand that this is a disappointment to those of you who have attending classes as you will not be able to interact with Geshe-la and other students directly.  Students can email or text their questions to Deana or Maryjane who will be taking turns providing the livestream for students.

A livestream link will be sent to all students just prior to class from either Deana or Maryjane.  During class you can then email them with your questions and these will be communicated to Geshe-la during a question and answer period.  If Geshe-la asks a question of students, you can also email in your replies and these will be read to Geshe-la at that time.

We appreciate everyone’s patience with this situation and your understanding that this decision is made with the health and welfare of students and the community in mind.   We also ask that you continue to remain strong in your study and practice. This is the time reach deep into your heart and truly use all the wisdom and practices the teachings of the Buddha-Dharma have given you in order to meet any challenges that arise in your life at this time.  Be a light to others in how to meet difficult times with calmness, kindness, compassion and grace.

This is to inform to our students and friends that from March 10, 2020 as a precaution with the COVID 19 virus, we have temporarily suspended Meditation Practice for indefinite period.

We will keep you posted when the Meditation will begin.  Thank you for your understanding

With prayers for everyone’s good health,

Namgyal Venerables, Board and Staff
