Heruka Chakrasamvara Initiation, Instruction, and Practice Retreat
This week-long retreat offers a rare opportunity to receive the highest yoga tantra initiation and sadhana practice of Chakrasamvara, one of the major meditational deities of highest yoga tantra and one of the principal sources of methods for realizing the blissful innate fundamental mind of clear light.
The Heruka Chakrasamvara initiation will be bestowed by Ven. Gankar Tulku Rinpoche. Following the initiation, the intensive will include teachings on the tantric grounds and paths, how to maintain a proper altar (its purpose and symbolism), daily teachings on the Chakrasamvara sadhana practice, intensive daily practice (three sessions per day), and instruction on how to perform proper offering mudras, the correct use of ritual implements, and the making of tormas. Special attention will be given to the nature of the visualized Chakrasamvara mandala and its symbolism. At the conclusion of the retreat, instructions will be given on carrying one’s practice into daily life. The monks of Namgyal Monastery as well as the principal teacher, Gankar Tulku Rinpoche will be available for private meetings with participants.
Recognized as a tulku at the age of five, Gankar Rinpoche has studied with many renowned Tibetan lamas including Tara Rinpoche, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, tutors of H.H. the Dalai Lama. He earned the highest Geshe degree at Drepung Loseling. Subsequently he entered the Gyuto Tantric College. Rinpoche has taught extensively throughout the world. He will be assisted in this retreat by Tenzin Bhuchung and the monks of Namgyal Monastery.
Participants in this retreat should have a basic background in Buddhism. This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to access this advanced practice. There will be a daily practice commitment.
Location
The retreat will be held at the beautiful Light on the Hill Retreat Center in the peaceful, rolling hills of Van Etten, New York, located just 30 minutes south of Ithaca on 236 acres of wooded land with streams, gorges, swimming ponds, distant views and walking paths. The retreat center offers lovely accommodations with private and semiprivate rooms, cottages, and cabins. Tenting options are also available.
Cost
The cost for the week-long retreat is $875, and includes lodging, three wonderful satisfying vegetarian meals per day, and all study materials.

To register, please contact Namgyal, with your full name, address, telephone number, and email (optional). A deposit of 50% is required to hold your registration. Deposits are fully refundable until June 30th, after which, one half of the deposit is refundable.
